Revit API is Application Program Interface. It allows the linkup of programs outside of Revit such as Risa, Etabs, etc.

• Spellcheck – create a drafting view (labeled spell check) and add each type of text to the view. Now you can “select all instances” and do a spell check

• Wind iso – make a mass, classify each face as a zone. From this you can create wind zones on the face

• by locking your xml file you will be able to sort the used keyboard shortcuts to the top

• try to create fence doors with a curtain wall

• use a family to follow contours for fences or railings

• hit the Alt key to see what your immediate shortcuts are hold Alt and hit Tab to see the next row

• regular family imported into a line based family to array things like stadium seating, formula could be required to finish off the row

• clouding schedules – create a “deleted” door family to replace a door instead of deleting it

• revision clouds – use the split tool on the cloud to make smaller more consistent bubbles

• duplicate grids – new grid bubble family with the letter already assigned 

• cloud command – keyboard shortcut “sz” to close the loop

• to embed a one wall into another all perimeter lines must be deleted and new ones drawn for the wall to be embedded, then line up the centers for auto-embed

• occupancy load table with oc. types – hatch rooms for types with a “calculated value” parameter assigned to tag
