Topic: Real-Time In Real-Time: Best Practices for Revit and Enscape

Presenter: Phil Read

Don’t settle for still image rendering when you can fully explore your building design from every angle and location. Recent advances in game engines and graphics processing allows us to go from Revit to real-time in practically real time. But getting beautiful results isn’t accidental – it takes careful attention to detail often overlooked when creating still image renderings. Let’s begin by focusing on three key areas in Revit: lighting, materials, family components. By the end of this session you’ll be able to create beautifully compelling and time saving virtual presentations of your Revit project that improve the decision making process of your design teams, consultants and clients.

Topic: Work more efficiently – Revit workflow tips to save time=money

Presenter: Megan Sewell

We all love our jobs!  But at the end of the day our employers need us to be profitable, and we need a paycheck.  If we work more efficiently, the company makes more money, which allows them to pay us! YAY!

In this KCRUG meeting, we will discuss several workflows Revit users could do that will help you work more efficiently.  Some examples we will discuss but not limited to:

  • Thinking ahead when creating content – Adding parameters to a family to be usable in multiple projects
    • Saving this content so it doesn’t get lost!  Avoid recreating content.
  • Collaboration – I will discuss how we share work as an office, as a multi-region/multi-state firm, and when working with other firms.
  • Using Revit Schedules to speed up your workflow
  • Making simple tweaks to your user settings that help YOU work faster
  • Keeping a healthy model
  • Demonstrate a few plug-ins that could make your life easier
