Topic: Working with the US Army Corps and BIM (Update to the 2013 presentation)

As the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) continues its path towards fully utilizing BIM, ensuring that the private sector understands what is required to deliver a BIM-based project is paramount to success. Our next meeting, we will discuss the collaborative development of the USACE BIM contract language, discuss requirements, list deliverables, and explain the USACE BIM project execution plan (PxP) template and the new Minimum Modeling Matrix (M3).

The PxP and M3 are at the cornerstone of the USACE BIM Process: The PxP is a document submitted by the private sector partner that defines the project process for the team. The M3 is a document used by the team to define deliverable Level of Development for each model element (based on Classification Systems like OmniClass and UniFormat.)

This presentation is by a private sector committee member of the US Army Corps of Engineers BIM Advisory Committee. This presentation will discuss the presenter’s experiences and efforts in the process.
