About Us

Our group consists of local Revit users who meet to discuss and share the platform's use for BIM implementation. We cover Architecture, Structure and MEP.

Monthly meetings are held at different local offices (HNTB, JeDunn, BRR, populous, etc.). We also have different sponsor that provide food and drinks to the group.

KCRUG Founders:

Mirabela Ticu is an architect in training and a BIM specialist at Atkins Global NA. In her role of Architect , Mira is responsible for developing the design into working details and assisting the production of construction documents and specs. In her role as BIM specialist she helped set up, implement and support BIM standards and practices as well as coordinate consultants and production drawings. Recently she has joined Atkins Global NA in Tampa where she will perform architectural task and implement BIM on a global level. In her previous position at HNTB she was been teaching BIM to practicing architects. Mira is a founding board member for the Kansas City Revit Users Group. [ mirabela.ticu@atkinsglobal.com ]

Tony DiMartino worked as a project architect and BIM manager at HNTB Architecture. Tony has been actively using Revit on projects ranging from federal buildings to convention centers and airports for the better part of a decade. He has been a key contributor to the Revit implementation and standards at HNTB as well as with partner firms during project based BIM design and coordination. He is a leading educator for the office in BIM and project based workflows as well as many community outreach efforts. He is also a board member for the Kansas City Revit Users Group. William Spier is an MEP Technical Specialist with Autodesk. He got his start as a plumbing designer with a consulting engineering firm in Seattle, where he worked on a high-end, national department store chain account. During his sixteen years in the industry, he has gained experience doing power and lighting, HVAC, as well as architectural design. William has worked in several disciplines within the AEC industry, including O&M design work on a major pharmaceutical account for Johnson Controls, Inc., as well as plumbing and piping design coordination for a major mechanical contractor in Kansas City where he also currently resides.
